What People Are Saying
“Before the breath work my thoughts felt scattered. I worried I would be a loose cannon. My usual MO is to just talk and I miss the points I want to make and often the results are not what I want because I just try and wing it!
After the breath work I felt relaxed and focused. I immediately made the necessary notes for my talk because I was so connected to what I needed to say. The breath work helped me organize my thoughts and succinctly write them down. It felt so easy to do this!
During the presentation I was relaxed and organized. I even had time at the end to answer questions..
The breath work was a revelation in my prep work.”

“I had a truly inspired coaching experience with Laurel. Through her guidance, I was able to tap into my breath and voice work in a deeper way.
I rediscovered a connection to my voice that had an immediate impact on my work: my confidence increased and I experienced such ease.
Laurel’s kind, thoughtful and precise approach was exactly what I needed to feel grounded and free.”

"After listening to you speak, I decided to implement your advice when presenting the following day to 120 people: feel your feet, become aware of your breath, speak. I do this presentation every two weeks to inform people about the non-profit organization I help manage. I had never given this presentation much thought as I consider myself a good speaker, capable in public speaking and well-practiced since childhood. However, in your talk you mentioned how we try to ignore the fact that speaking is a physical act but our bodies refuse to be ignored: they cause us to have butterflies in our stomachs, sweating, shortness of breath, mind blanks, etc. I realized I often experience shortness of breath during the presentation and mostly find the presentation itself too long and feel sorry for the audience whose eyes become glazed-over quite quickly.
So, the very next day I took the papers from which I read, felt my feet, observed my breath and presented the information in front of the audience of 120. I was amazed at how much more confident I felt, especially since I would never have said I lacked confidence before this practice, but I certainly felt much more confident being connected in this way to my body. I made a point of making eye-contact with the audience throughout the presentation, and I even took a few seconds, comfortable in the ensuing silence, to catch my breath and stay with it as I continued speaking. There was no way to 'mess up', I felt in control of my own being and thus free to fully participate in this experience of being together as speaker and audience. I was amazed at how soon the presentation was done when normally I feel it drag. AND no one’s eyes were glazed-over. I have continued using these three steps in simple conversations with people and the benefits continue.”
